Unproduced Star Wars The Black Series Rancor Prototype
HasLab’s crowdfunded Star Wars The Black Series Rancor project ran from October 22nd to December 6th of 2022 and was planned to ship Spring of 2023.
The price point was set at $350 and required a minimum of 9,000 backers. However, the campaign only received 8,533 backers, in which did not meet its backer goal and the Rancor was never released into production. There were also plans for 4 tier unlocks to include the following:
Tier 1: 11,000 Backers Needed
6-inch-scale The Black Series Gamorrean Guard figure on classic Kenner-inspired Power of the Force cardback with a special collector’s coin.
Tier 2: 13,500 Backers Needed
A collection of creature bones of the Rancor’s previous meals.
Tier 3: 16,000 Backers Needed
6-inch scale The Black Series Kowakian monkey-lizard “Salacious B. Crumb”.
Tier 4: 19,000 Backers Needed
Brand new tooled 6-inch scale Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker to include a newly sculpted photoreal design. It too would’ve included the classic Kenner-inspired Power of the Force Cardback with a special collector’s coin.
